Preparing to leave the studio she’s shared with fellow artists for 20 years, Inner West artist Pat Harry excavates her life’s work.
The story of an artist, her work and the end of a love affair with the city that inspired it. Pat’s Studio showcases a unique figure on the Australian art scene and a bygone era in Sydney’s Inner West. Forced to close the studio she has shared with fellow artists for over 20 years, artist Pat Harry unearths the thousands of unsold drawings and canvases that constitute her life’s work.
This short is the work of up-and-coming filmmaker Ashleigh McArthur whose film Ignis, about a Northern California artist who fashions pottery from wildfire ash, is being featured as part of SDFF 2021’s Local Lens shorts program. McArthur was also one of the speakers in a 2021 Special Panel Discussion How To Read The Credits, along with editor and director Vivien Hillgrove, line producer Deb Spidell and film executive and producer Sophie Watts.
