Festival Co-Director Jane Winslow discusses this year’s festival with KGUA General Manager Peggy Berryhill, who also produced the SDFF 2023 selection Town Destroyer. Their chat about the festival will be followed by a discussion of the Town Destroyer with directors Deborah Kaufman and Alan Snitow.
Town Destroyer follows the recent high profile battle that erupted over depictions of Black slaves and Native Americans in the New Deal-era murals of San Francisco’s George Washington High School, which lead to a passionate outpouring of activism and opinions about art, history and racial reckoning in America. The film will be screened at SDFF 2023 on 2:30 p.m., Sat., March 18 at Rialto Cinemas® #8 with the short Remnants of Memory, and followed by filmmaker Q&A. Tickets are available now!
