Part of SebArts Inaugural Open House
SDFF will be holding a free summer shorts screening, themed The Art of Making An Impact, as part of the first annual SebArts Open House from 3-5 p.m. on Aug. 6.
A rare selection of satisfying bits of brilliance, the shorts program will include a dozen films: surprising, touching and funny. The selections celebrate creative thought and share a focus on the artistry of human expression through the impact of exceptional filmmakers. Stay tuned for details on the full roster of films!
The event is also meant to celebrate the volunteers and community members who have given the festival and SebArts’ other programs life.
A day of art, music and creativity, the Open House will begin at 2 p.m. and provide an opportunity for the community to learn about SebArts and all of its its programs. In addition to the SebDocs shorts screenings, the free daytime events will include creative activities for kids, art demos, a chance to make pinch pots in the ceramics studio, and an auction of 1,100+ rare, original movie posters.
The day’s Open House events will be followed by a SebArts benefit and book launch for Poems of Love & Landscape from 6-8 p.m. The benefit will feature poetry and music from Poet Laureate Elizabeth Herron, Maya Khosla, Raphael Block, and cellist RutiCelli. Tickets for this portion of the evening events are $25. You can find details on the benefit and book launch right here!
